This, says Dedon, is ‘Spirit of Place’.  Based around this theme, the brand has imagined three ‘worlds’ or settings in which to showcase its designs. Each of the settings – Spiritual Mountain, Endless Ocean, Mysterious Desert – is imbued with its own narrative, telling stories of perfect moments under open skies. Dedon Iconics: portfolio classics and outdoor evergreens Via the interplay of innovative technology, precise craftsmanship and a luxurious sensibility, Dedon creates its unique, classic designs known as ‘Iconics’. Outstanding pieces in its portfolio, ‘Dedon Iconics’ are rooted in the DNA of a brand known for its surprising and organic design. Imbued with enduring aesthetic value and engendering strong emotional attachment, the pieces are made to last for generations, developed to preserve Spirit of Place, weaving people and memories together to create beautiful outdoor moments.  Here, we present four ‘Dedon Iconics’ in the brand’s Spirit of Place settings. ‘Nestrest’ by Fred Frety and Daniel Pouzet Thanks to its protective, organic structure, ‘Nestrest’ transforms your typical garden sofa into a small architectural piece, one that offers a secluded, suspended sanctuary as it gently rocks and eases like a warm embrace. It’s a perfect place for relaxation, meditation and open-air conversations. Fred Frety and Daniel Pouzet, two longtime collaborators of Dedon design partner Jean-Marie Massaud, were inspired to create ‘Nestrest’ by the shapes, textures and colours found in nature, specifically by the sophisticated architecture of birds’ nests. ‘Kida’ by Stephen Burks Stephen Burks’ award-winning collection is as delightful to look at as to use. The hanging lounge chair is the first Dedon piece to be wrapped rather than woven. Some 834m of Dedon Fiber Touch, create a cradle-like, organic form that’s open, airy, light and inviting. Once inside, users can luxuriate in ‘Kida’s comfy cushion, which covers the entire seating area, and feels, in Burks’ words, ‘as free as the breeze’ when swinging. ‘Swingrest’ by Daniel Pouzet Perfect for hanging on the terrace or veranda, or even indoors, the Dedon ‘Swingrest’ is distinguished by the purity and simplicity of its concept. Rather than unnecessarily complicate its design, Pouzet decided to focus instead on refining the details, developing the piece’s elegant suspension system, the 180-degree rotating tabletop and the specially created cord that wraps around its exposed tubing. Available in a Natural and Chalk coloured weave, ‘Swingrest’ comes with an optional fabric curtain cover for making shade and providing privacy, but letting anyone inside see out. ‘Orbit’ by Richard Frinier ‘Orbit’ is the original icon of Dedon’s outdoor aesthetic. A new type of love seat, able to rotate 360 degrees in pursuit of sun, stars or more earthly views, Orbit was a sensation from the moment it launched 20 years ago. Today, Richard Frinier’s multiple-award-winning collaboration with Dedon continues to delight, surprise and inspire with its novel design, precision-opening canopy and promise of extraordinary comfort.
